Derek Yu’s collection, “Journal Entry-364” materializes the emotion of solitude through fashion. Solitude is translated through two research areas, the Terra Nova expedition (1910) and the “One Year Performance” series by Tehching Hsieh. The collection merges the two subjects by incorporating its references to elements of fashion, literally and metaphorically, establishing a tangible atmosphere of the intangible emotion.
