Isabella Schwind is a designer concerned with sensitivity and anecdotal draw first. Hailing from northeastern Massachusetts, Schwind’s work is saturated with salty air and an informal nature that feeds on a collective nostalgia. Be it inspecting unvoiced sentiment or the effort of growing up itself, she is hardly interested in gazing upon the initial surface of a person, place, or thing in her work. Opting instead to probe at the intimate dissatisfactions of life that scarcely make their way to the surface. Her design work aims to serve as the ultimate two way mirror, allowing viewers to peer into her, as well as stare back at themselves.
