Laurel Fang’s thesis collection “Laurel Blue: I am the Image in Their Frame”, Laurel Blue has and continues to be the conceptualization of her affinity towards the ocean. She believes that the sea is as near as we come to another world, where she is but a visitor. Laurel wonders, as she gazes upon the water’s inhabitants, do they also look up at her? This collection is built through the lens of the inhabitants of the ocean, questioning how we are perceived by the sea, and seeks to develop, but also question her relationship with it.
